Make custom maps with pins, routes and layers, then share or embed them in a travel guide.
Google My Maps lets you build your own map on top of Google Maps: drop pins for the places in a guide, color-code them by type, draw a walking route or a driving loop, and add notes and photos to each point. You can share the map with a link or embed it in a blog post.
Travel writers use it for city guides, food crawls and road trips, where a map does more for the reader than a list of addresses. Layers keep separate days or themes apart, and a map can be imported from a spreadsheet of places.
It is a mapping tool, not an AI one, and it is listed here because so much travel content depends on it. Check that every pin is placed on the right building, since search results sometimes match a different business with the same name.
Not enough info yet on mobile app, works offline, browser extension, developer API. Check the tool's own site.
