OpenAI's chat assistant, used by travel writers to outline guides, draft sections from notes and suggest headlines.
ChatGPT is OpenAI's general chat assistant. Travel writers mostly use it on the scaffolding of a piece: turning a notebook of trip notes into an outline, suggesting headline options, drafting a practical section such as getting there, or reworking a slow opening paragraph.
It runs in a browser and in desktop and mobile apps, reads files you upload and can search the web on supported plans, which helps when a guide draws on your own research or an earlier article.
Treat everything it says about a place as unchecked. Opening hours, prices, routes, visa rules and even the existence of a restaurant can be wrong or out of date in its answers. Use it for structure and phrasing, and check every fact against an official source or your own visit before it goes into print.
